How To Draw Cartoon Dogs:
Drawing a cartoon dog is perhaps the easiest subject to start with when teaching children to draw. Children love dogs and are familiar with how one would look like.A cartoon dog would be just right.
-Basic Body Parts
First, draw four circles. Put one circle on top of another, overlapping each other by about 1/3. The top circle should be the smallest and make the next circle little bigger than the previous as you go down.
Next, align the circles vertically, but place the second circle from the most top a bit off centered to the left.
The circle most top will be the head of the dog, and the circle that is off centered to the left will be the snout. The two circles that are lowest will be the body.
-Draw The Ears
Next, draw the dogs ears. On the upper right portion of the dogs head, draw a sharp triangular arc going outwards. Draw another triangular arc but this time a bit higher than the previous one from the same starting point.
Close them off by a curved line. This will be your dogs right ear. Do the same on the left side. This time, make sure that the arc would be going out towards the left.
-Draw The Eyes
The next step is to draw your dog eyes.Draw two small circles within his head and just about above his snout. This would be his eyes. Then you add two half circles above and around his eyes. These half circles will serve as the dogs eye brows.
If you want to draw a happy dog, just keep the half circles a bit high and curvaceous for a bright disposition. If you want your dog to be sad, then just replace these arcs with diagonal lines going towards the center. If you want your dog to be mad, replace the arcs with just one long zigzagging line across his forehead.

-Draw The Nose
The nose is simply a small circle that is concentric to the second circle, the circle stands out of the dog“s snout which will be the tip of the nose.Place it slightly off-centered to the left.
-The Legs
Then it is time to draw the legs, this dog is sitting so his hind legs are folded and front legs would be straight.Place the hind legs on the lowest circle so they just stick out from both sides of the body. The front legs are are occupying the center portion of the lowest circle.
The paws are important as well.Paws are drawn at the end of the legs, this can easily be done by drawing a fat "m" like figure and closing it off on its bottom portion.
-Details
Now its time to add a finishing touch to your dog.You need to add the details of the dogs body, such as neck and mouth. For the neck, find the right angle in which you can create a slightly diagonal line from the snout circle to the upper body or 3rd circle. The mouth should be under the dogs nose.
The last thing you need to do is clean up sketch lines that are not needed. The eraser is the best tool for this.
